Obviously I don’t want to put any tap water anywhere near the electronics, but I am a bit concerned about static electricity generated by the vacuum cleaner.
@jpm attach a grounding strap to the vacuum tube if it's made of metal?
Bam!!! Lime meringue pie for my wife!!! She doesn't look the best but everything tastes so good I had to stop myself from eating all the ingredients!!!
@dragon omg she looks SO good
20 years or so ago, wife was considering a used truck, and wanted some reviews of year/model, and she put that in Google, and one of the pages she got was this guy who *really* loved his toyota truck and had a whole site with nothing but pictures of it and little mash-notes he'd written to it.
And she was extremely irritated by that.
Sometimes, late at night, I think about the dream held by that guy, and me, and millions of others, about what the internet could be.
And I have another drink.
(Irrelevant aside: We got that Toyota truck, and drove it until the floor rusted out so bad that even the *corrupt* gas station wouldn't let it pass inspection anymore. 400k miles on that engine, still hummed like a top, but on rainy days our clothes would get completely soaked if we drove through puddles.)
A good name-brand, 13-gallon trash bag is about 25 cents.
I can mostly fill one in a minute by walking around my house and grabbing trash.
If I only half-fill it, then the bag costs 50 cents.
It is worth 50 cents and a minute of my time to pick up trash while my ramen's in the microwave.
That is my self-tip for #ADHD #SelfImprovement today
I was sunning by the pool when the boxes arrived.
And here in my hand is my life’s work: “The Nerd Reich: Silicon Valley Fascism and the War On Democracy.”
Coming 8/18. Pre-orders make a huge difference! Make a fascist sweat—pre-order today!
Kinda dawning on me a little bit more that you may call Tiny BASIC a computer programming language, but it is probably also fair to say that it is just a collection of statements that work really well together when interpreted.
After having gone through the 8080 listing for Tiny BASIC Extended (TBX), I realise that I have far more freedom to make my own design decisions.
The Atari BASIC Manual looms in my mind. What are the best data structures?
Currently:
LNUM (16 bit), LLEN, STRING, CR/LF.
@dirtycommo That's what makes Basic so easy to implement, but also why it's not a composable programming language.
good morning 💖💖💖 hope you can have the ascii? :3
🐧 'I'm not a programmer' anymore: Linus Torvalds on the only two tools he uses now
"I'm not very sentimental when it comes to technology," Torvalds added. "We're slightly more active in trying to drop support for hardware that literally nobody uses anymore, except in museum environments."

On second thoughts, maybe hit the switches with orange oil degreaser first
@jpm the drugs worked then?
NEW: The First Major Overhaul of Public Lands Grazing Regulations in a Generation Looks to Cut Out Public Involvement
For the first time since 1995, the Bureau of Land Management is rewriting its grazing regulations. The new rule, which governs ranching across 155 million acres of public lands in the West, would heavily favor the livestock industry.

@ProPublica As a vegan, I reject the word "livestock." It's farm animals, abused and murdered for profit.
But first, I need to get some drugs
On second thoughts, maybe hit the switches with orange oil degreaser first

Bam!!! Lime meringue pie for my wife!!! She doesn't look the best but everything tastes so good I had to stop myself from eating all the ingredients!!!
Yeah only thing left to do now is attack the front and back panels with baby wipes, then hit the switches with contact cleaner
@jpm very maticulous thread, I like.

How can someone forget their laptop password?? 😭😭😭
@farah
Unless. I use them everyday I will likely forget any password, including laptop password.
I've also had laptops forget their password because, cheap refurbs off eBay so old motherboard with weak / failing components probably.
It's fun doing reinstalls because your laptop's going senile 😂.
