Frequently Asked Questions About Cis People:
❓ What does it mean to be a cisgender?
🅰️ Cisgender people are just like you and me, except they believe that their "assigned sex at birth" matches up with their "gender identity".
❓ How do they know they are cis?
🅰️ Cisgender people often feel that they "know" their gender internally, many times from a very young age. They feel as if they were "born in the right body".
❓ Who would date a cisgender?
🅰️ Though cisgender people often have a hard time finding partners, they are still able to have healthy relationships. Often, cis people date other cis people.
❓ How do they have sex?
🅰️ Cisgender people can be very inventive with their bodies!
❓ If I have sex with a cisgender does that make me straight?
🅰️ Assigned sex at birth and sexual orientation are two different things. Just like regular people, cisgender people can have any sexual orientation.
❓ Why don't cisgenders get counseling to learn to accept the gift of transition?
🅰️ Counseling aimed at changing someone’s gender identity, sometimes known as "conversion therapy", doesn’t work and can actually be extremely harmful. The belief that someone's identity can be changed through therapy runs counter to the overwhelming consensus in the medical community.
❓ What medical treatments do cisgenders seek out?
🅰️ Some, but not all cisgender people undergo medical treatments to make their bodies more congruent with their assigned sex at birth, and help them live healthier lives. Different cis people may need different types of sex affirming related care. Medical procedures can include:
- Breast enlargement
- Hair growth treatments
- Erectile enhancement drugs
- Hormone therapy
- Various surgeries to make one's face, chest, and anatomy more in line with one's assigned sex at birth
❓ But they don't even look like a cisgender!
🅰️ Cisgender people are everywhere. They might not look how you expect! Understanding is the first step toward acceptance.
U.S. President Donald Trump's administration is removing some tariffs on imports from Taiwan to implement parts of a trade deal previously agreed between Washington and Taipei. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/business/2026/05/28/markets/us-tariffs-taiwan-trade-agreement/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #business #markets #us #donaldtrump #republicans #trade #tariffs #taiwan
Pasting a huge AI generated explanation to a problem in an issue or pull-request is nothing but RUDE. Don't do it. You look stupid and the receivers of that feel insulted.
We are humans. We communicate like humans. Fine, use the tools you like, but don't insult us.
@bagder You’re absolutely right!

@catsalad has an unknown number of accounts and I don't even think she knows how many alt accounts she has.

Latest outrageous use of the DoJ as the president's personal harassment weapon: E. Jean Carroll is being criminally investigated for perjury after her (successful) civil case against Trump.
The perjury theory seems to be quite weak; she corrected the deposition statement in question before trial, and the judge in the case had ruled it wasn't relevant to her credibility. But even if she beats the rap, she's in for a ride. Hopefully another no bill with the grand jury.
Because that constantly-shitting rapist mobster bastard cannot stop terrorizing his victims.

Andy Kim, a Democratic senator, said he was pepper sprayed by federal agents on Monday during a protest at a New Jersey detention facility.
Video posted on social mediashowed Kim receiving help from a volunteer who is seen pouring water in his eyes outside Delaney Hall in Newark,
where detainees are reportedly staging a hunger strike against poor conditions and denial of medical care.
Demonstrators clashed with immigration officers who used batons and pepper spray as they attempted to transfer a detainee who organized the hunger strike to another facility.
#Kim, a senator for New Jersey, joined the state’s governor, Mikie #Sherrill,
at the protest to speak with relatives of some of those detained.
He told USA Today that the incident in which he was sprayed by a chemical substance came shortly after he had been inside #DelaneyHall to see conditions for himself.

Re solidarity: this first letter from #DelaneyHall has a remarkable insistence by the writer, "I, Leonardo Villalba, with identification number A■■■■■■■■■, take responsibility for this statement, as I do not want my fellow detainees to suffer any consequences."
but 26 other detainees signed their names & numbers anyway.

You either raise your standards or negotiate them down.
