If you web search for ‘eon’ what you probably get back is loads of results for E.ON.

Which is a German electrical ‘energy’ company that has appropriated the word. It takes the long-standing notion of deep time and imports into it sentiments of ‘E’ for ‘energy’, and ‘ON’ for *this thing is fkn ON, guys*.

Contrary to the root meaning of ‘eon’, E.ON has been going for just 26 years.

And it’s not an ‘energy’ company. It’s a *power* company…

Only 17, but I erred on the side of guessing I hadn't read a book if I wasn't sure whether I'd *really* read it or seen a film adaptation.

I will say some are undoubtedly culturally significant or even great works, without necessarily being a good read.

So I don't take the ordering very seriously: most of these might be somewhere in the top 100 choices of a set of people who've heard of most of them, but that is *much* less certain for the top 10.

Can remember when I heard most of these for the first time, admittedly as with a lot of music, first listening grabs you by the ears and throws you around a bit.

AI coding agents tend to hardcode spacing in SwiftUI instead of relying on defaults. This can look wrong when a user adjusts their font size preference, making the UI too cramped. SwiftUI's default container spacing adjusts for Dynamic Type automatically, but if you do need custom spacing, consider using the ScaledMetric API.

En Grande-Bretagne, l'IA a été installée en douce pour surveiller les flics eux-mêmes: déplacements, communications et accès aux systèmes informatiques. Et ils n'ont vraiment pas apprécié. Et là bizarrement il n'y a personne pour dire "Mais si vous n'avez rien à vous reprocher..."
