"Bridgy (and its parent A New Social) exists to help make the individual protocols less important: everyone should be able to collaborate with everyone else regardless of which platform they’re using. It’s the kind of thing that feels easy in the moment — but as this post proves, it’s far from simple under the hood."
Connecting protocols is hard, complicated work. But somebody's gotta do it 💪🏼
@thej All just an implementation of the brilliant @gedankenstuecke’s work. :)
@RaoOfPhysics @thej aww, you're too kind!
ok wikipedia https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/Files_in_Category:Portrait_photographs_of_Joseph_Stalin personally i think removing all copies of any portraits of a mass murderer in march 2026 is uh i think it is certainly a decision but not one for a single editor to make?
If this is clearly a copyright violation,
wikieditor662 demonstrating their impression of someone who isn't a sockpuppet
These photos instead appear to have been first published in the 2005 book
proof: this internet archive link, which serves as proof in a court of law
ok wait someone else is causing problems hell yes
Isn't the US definition of "published" that the photo left the custody of the photographer? In that case, sending the photos to NYT would mean that they "published", and if the copyright was not renewed, then they are in the public domain? Nakonana (talk) 10:57, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
@FediFollows Also the Dwingeloo Radio Telescope in NL: @radiotelescoop !
Thank you, I've made a note of it! 🙏

CHAINS OF THE SEA (2018)
Acrylic on Canvas - 12" x 16"
A small study for a larger planned painting that never happened. I began working on this at the same time as the cover for Words of Radiance back in 2013. 1/2
Careful everyone there's this scam going around where people buy up all the means of production and try to get you to work on them for less than the value of your labor. You're basically paying them to work
I boosted but I'll share it again. It's great article

Digg relaunches…. again, this time as an AI news aggregator
Digg has rebooted again, pivoting from failed Reddit clone to AI-focused news aggregator.
It now ranks stories using real-time X data, tracking engagement, sentiment, and influence.
The platform highlights trending AI stories, key voices, and top companies driving conversations.
Big challenge: no native discussion, and its unclear why users won’t just stay on X.
If it works, Digg could become a traffic lifeline as AI kills clicks.

Amazon employees are "tokenmaxxing" due to pressure to use AI tools
Workers are using an internal AI tool to automate non-essential tasks

This is no different than Musk selling his CyberSlop to SpaceX because no one else will buy his hot garbage. And lets be blunt there are a ton of companies pushing this as well, even though practical experience is showing it doesn't speed things up. I've spent so much time resubmitting request after request to a LLM that in many cases it would be simpler and faster to just go to an subject matter expert to have them answer my question or help me write a script. And this is NOT a one off. I legit waste an hour a day x 5 days x 4 weeks being forced to use a LLM's.

The message from Europeans is clear: children deserve a digital world where they can grow up free, safe and protected.
From harmful content and cyberbullying to addictive online designs, concerns about the risks children face online are growing across Europe.
Tech providers are responsible for the safety of their products and their safe use. Let us give childhood back to our children.
That is Europe's principle; that is the basis of the Digital Services Act.
@EUCommission I'd be glad if children would be protected offline.
Despite a duty of protection, schools often don't protect children from continued bullying.
