TRUST (2016)
Acrylic - 12” x 16”
The masonite board I had been using became a painting that fits a theme begun with LEAP OF FAITH and runs through WINGING IT and other paintings. 1/3

ACCIDENTAL ALIEN LANDSCAPE (2016)
Acrylic on Mat Board - 17” x 17”
Week 34(!) from the first Leftovers & Palette Gremlins gallery back in 2016. I set out to share a painting a week, and it ending up being mostly new work except for a couple older pieces. 1/3

ASTRAL MUSE (2016)
Acrylic - 9” x 6”
This piece of mat board was used as a palette while working on the cover for Brandon Sanderson’s WORDS OF RADIANCE. Half of the scrap was turquoise while the rest was reds and oranges. Random brushstrokes suggested the figure that I painted in. 1/2

BEYOND THE VEIL (2023)
Acrylic on Canvas - 6 ¼” x 6 ¼”
This began as an abstract color experiment. I had no particular subject in mind until I recalled a drawing in my sketchbook. Staring at a darkly swathed figure earlier that day, I felt that she’d been waiting for a painting to float into. 1/2

PERILOUS PLANET (2022)
Acrylic - 7 ½” x 6”
Palette Gremlins are often a matter of perspective. 1/3

YOUR RIDE IS HERE (2024)
Acrylic on Paper, 13” x 8 ¼”
As I take afternoon walks, I relish the reds, golds, and greens all around me. It’s no accident to see the colors of autumn represented on my palette. 1/2

DRIFTWOOD FANTASY (2022)
Acrylic - 8” x 10”
Like most of my Leftovers and Palette Gremlins, this was born from accident, inspiration, and materials at hand. The palette of warm tones came from a recently completed painting. The graduated blue was overspray on a scrap of board. 1/3

THE WITCHING TREE (2019)
Acrylic on Illustration Board - 6" x 6"
An accidental shape on a scrap of illustration board evoked a sort of Lovecraftian tree.
The board originally had a figure sketch on it from the work I did for Lucca Comics & Games. When I saw it turned 90 degrees sideways I was struck by the shapes. One thing lead to another and the figures turned into the tree. 1/2
