@Sominemo are they furries who make electronic-sounding meows?

in the NT object namespace, Win32 devices appear under the ?? directory, named after Dave Cutler’s initial reaction after reading the Win32 spec
@acf @semanticist so fundamentally nothing?
And having a good strategy isn't a hallmark of the trump regime
@otfrom @acf It would literally start a war between two countries with nuclear weapons and comparable levels of conventional military technology and training. Also, NATO article 5. It would start world war three and everyone would die. That kind of decision is above Trump’s pay grade. If nothing else, imagine there’s lower risk targets they would go after first, and it doesn’t really mesh with the sphere of influence doctrine that seems to be the thing now.
It's been a year, indeed. We've launched the second, longer term project to address systemic problems in this country. https://blog.codinghorror.com/launching-the-rural-guaranteed-minimum-income-initiative/
@codinghorror From the main site, it looks like the options are:
- Help, by talking to your neighbors, family, etc.
- Donate $1M+
- Donate $3M+
- ...
If you go to givedirectly via one of your links, you can eventually change some non-default donation options etc. to get to a point of being able to donate to "Poverty Relief - U.S.". Is that the same thing?
Look, since rap is a music genre I don't follow at all, I had not heard of Bad Bunny until approximately 2-3 weeks ago.
But.
Based on the collective aneurysm his very existence seems to be putting on MAGA folk, I do very much wish him to become the most successful recording artist of all time.
Good things should be rewarded, after all.

It took a researcher fewer than 2 hours to hijack OpenClaw: https://thenewstack.io/openclaw-moltbot-security-concerns/ via @TheNewStack & @sjvn
Do not--I repeat--do not use #AI tools OpenClaw or Moltbook. They really have no security to speak of.
@trwnh I mean, at some point, it'd be nice if you start a separate thread.
I talk about branching and grafting in FEP 76ea; I think it's a pretty natural process.
@evan i would if i could!
Syeda et al., bioRxiv (2026) find that #NeuralActivity in #mouse #VisualCortex is dominated by #orofacial movements, not eye movements. Across darkness and visual stimulation, eye movements explain only a small fraction of neural variance and are largely correlated with whisking and sniffing. Movement signals thus strongly shape #V1 activity during free viewing.
@whitequark
Free software is anarchism working in a field where capital and the state have been unablebto enclose the means of production. Their attempts to commoditize and consumerize phones and tablets and things are in part a way to ensure people dont have the general purpose computers that give the power to create.
Seem to have accidentally bought this and it's arriving tomorrow. Not sure whether to dive in, add it to the list or throw it on the fire.
It seems like something I'd have read 44 years ago when I was studying Buddhism (amongst other things less high-minded - all my friends were thieves and addicts) instead of book lernin'. Might be bollocks, might remind of stuff I need to remember. It's either the first or last option, I guess.
@davep It's very good!
The phrase "Gondor Dysphoria" is in my brain but I don't know enough LOTR to flesh it into a full pun

@lritter we'll see 😁
maybe not what i see now, but practicing an attitude to look for what should be proactivelt and adapt once new insights appear as things unfold, will converge what i see with what will be. ...if people made such an attitude part of their culture and try to spread it in their culture, that would be great.
we all need to practice vision building and then acting on it if we want to avoid a few crazies doing it for us
@serapath sure i'll do my best. but i know i will fail.
@evan well, that's the problem, again -- you see it as "your" thread, and i can't reply without copy-pasting a link to your post and appending "re:"? then appending "cc: evan"? so i can reply but i can't reply using inReplyTo? and you control all 400 posts downstream of your poll, *including the ones that don't mention you*? it's hard to make sense of that...

@serapath oh it's never going to be what you think.

that's a great splash screen to start a documentary
