Mientras la IA generativa dependa de todo un entramado basado en el extractivismo, el robo masivo de datos, el uso de esos datos sin el pago de licencias y regalías, y lleve asociado el gigantesco impacto ambiental que actualmente lleva (y creciendo), no creo que exista un uso ético de dicha herramienta. Por muy loable que sea el fin, no se ve justificado por medios enormemente destructivos.

Nos encontramos en un momento donde todas las prioridades deberían enfocarse en reducir el impacto medioambiental. Y la IA es la tecnología que más ha incrementado su impacto relativo en. Último lustro.

No creo que se pueda hablar de un uso ético hasta que no exista una IA generativa que sea transparente, esté adecuadamente auditada, se nutra de contenidos cuyos autores hayan autorizado, reciban sus justas compensaciones por ello, y sean ambientalmente sostenibles.

Been falling down on a research rabbit hole as a result of feeling very aggrieved on behalf of Filemón Lozano y Lozano. He was a Mexican botanical collector who worked with Cyrus Pringle. Variously described as "helper" or "travelling companion" & is generally not listed as a co-collector on Pringle specimens. I've added him to #Bionomia and #Wikidata. I've also ensured he's linked in Wikidata to the genus Lozanella and the multiple species named in his honour.
