I've ordered myself a micro:bit, because I'm frustrated that I haven't the vaguest notion about how to do anything with circuts and I want to be able to make things with my @emf badges. And, hopefully, my tinkering will get my kids curious, too!
Any recommendations for micro:bit activity books that might hook apathetic primary school kids and that don't require purchasing an expensive miscellany of extra bits?
A friend shared some videos she did for the #microbit and I watched them with my 7-year-old who got super enthusiastic and wanted one. My micro:bit arrived the very next day and he IMMEDIATELY got stuck in trying to code with it; he'd done some #scratch at school so was comfortable with the visual coding. He followed the hot potato tutorial and improved it with his own sound effects. This is already an absolute win!
Looks like I'm going to need to buy another for myself, this one is his now!
