The Gender Recognition Act 2004, as currently written, is blatantly incompatible with the Equality Act 2010, Article 8 (right to private life). Under a reasonable interpretation a GRC should be granted with no more than a sworn statement. Self-ID laws in other jurisdictions prove that the government has no justification in requiring further proof, and such requirements violate privacy.

Further, refusal to recognize nonbinary people denies recognition to both intersex and trans nonbinary people who wish to keep their "sex assigned at birth" private.

It is unfortunate that the UK Government refuses to fix these issues and will have to be forced to do so in the European Court of Human Rights.

So, nach nun 4,5 Monaten mit 70% meiner Bücher bei Tolino bin ich sehr kurz davor, meine moralischen Bauchschmerzen zu verdrängen und zurück zu Amazon zu gehen, obwohl es da natürlich auch nicht mehr gut läuft.
ABER Tolino - besonders Thalia natürlich - ist so absolut nicht geeignet für Indies, dass es schmerzt. Und komplett zu verhungern, das will ich mir eigentlich doch nicht geben.

Mein persönlicher Rückblick auf die Berliner Digitalkonferenz.

A good designer, researcher, or programmer is always going to be naive, and optimistic, because that is required for doing this kind of work. You can spot when they are crushed by the system, because they become fatalistic, and politically savvy. That's the death of curiosity, creativity, and hope that are necessary for this career. I feel like our society should try to protect them, instead of praying on them. It would benefit everyone.
