@jeffjarvis There is something seriously wrong with so many of us. The country cannot do the right thing about much of anything that is vile and criminal when it comes to people and corporations with power/money.

This has me thinking that a good #government maximizes this among its citizens, while corrupt #autocratic governments do the opposite. @julescelt01 @PaulNickson @Lazarou It's the belief that rich people have earned their wealth through brains, hard work, and some sort of undefined "merit." People buy into this to protect their belief that if they work hard enough, they, too, will be very rich one day. To think that rich people became rich any other way is to think that the entire system is rigged, and a lot of people simply won't entertain that notion.

@greenpeace The folks in Brazil generally seem to think that we’re the assholes in this situation. From what I understand, they see the Amazon as the “lungs of North America.” To them, destroying the Amazon is going to harm us by not them. Until we address that mindset there isn’t a petition we’ll sign that will change anything.

Damals ging es noch um Facebook und Google+ (wer erinnert sich ...?), heute um Insta und TikTok, aber das Grundprinzip ist immer das gleiche: Das kann nicht funktionieren. Es ist abenteuerlich, dass Friedrich Merz jetzt mit diesem Zombie-Regulierungsvorschlag kommt. Der war schon 2012 ein alter Hut und auch damals schon schlecht und de facto ohnehin nicht umsetzbar.
