@neil yes it's definitely academic moral philosophy but I would also say very engaging writing style compared to what you would expect from that genre (low bar, I know)
Dalai Lama is definitely general audience, Nussbaum is also academic but not esoteric, she makes her points in plain language
with ECC i'm pretty confident you literally don't have "n bits of security" at all anymore (which is often a lie, but can be real for q = 2p + 1 diffie-hellman). i have not found a single thing to support that they manage to create new subgroups out of nowhere that give them more security in fewer bits!
meanwhile there is a whole separate theory about using discrete log as an actually secure CSPRNG, because the problem of guessing a hidden state is actually so much easier when it's also reducible to complexity theory
(i'm still not quite sure about that part yet, btw. i need to understand the q = 2p + 1 transformation better but i believe it is correct that you should be able to extract log q bits per exponentiation and you should be able to do that sqrt(q) times. but this is where the trail goes cold)

@cheeaun @maique That feature works on my instance. The strange thing is that I had this menu entry and used it quite often in the past. But suddenly, it disappeared.
Things I have tried so far:
- clearing the cache of the PWA
- logging in and out
- uninstalled and reinstalled it
- logged in with another account (me.dm, same thing)
Not sure what could have caused this on the instance side (Mastodon.online). Maybe a setting? An update in the background? 🤔
@stefan did you know I’ve explained to my partner how TCP works and now we use it during conversations? I’ll ask them something and they’ll repeat it back to me and I’ll say “that’s right” or vice versa. And now our relationship misunderstandings have decreased dramatically! GO TCP!!

You know the @permacomputer , it is a project meant to fall under that umbrella of research.
Hardware is something I have always been passionate about, and the hardware world has its own problems, but it has solved a completely different set to software, it is interesting to look at over time.
