So I decided to celebrate in a rather restrained way and took myself out to a fancy coffee shop new to our area of west Phoenix. Elevate Coffee is now at Park West only a few miles from my home.

Julia the Barista made me a fabulous Carmel macchiato with quad of espresso! White latte and Chocolate latte with 4 shots of expresso. Wow!! She also gave me an Orange Creamsickle Croissant which is decadent. Would not take a dime! Wow! I asked the next person in line to take this shot. Fun fun fun!

What is functional programming?

In short: It is programming without mutation. If you want to write loops, use recursion! Or some abstraction upon recursion, like the `map` function.

The benefit is that functional programs don't have any unexpected side-effects, making them easier to reason about & test.

If you call a "pure" function you know that the only data it reads were those you passed into it, & the only data it writes is that which it returned back to you.
