I hope it arrives in such a way that humans are able to enjoy it.

i want to make a tv show about me traveling around the world meeting various autistic people and asking them to tell me about their interests
i mean i already sort of do that, but i'd have to film it
Midsomer Murders are interesting in a way because I never get the murderers right before the reveal. Which almost never happens to me for any other crime shows. I can usually guess pretty accurately way ahead about the criminal. Either British crime shows are superior or American crime shows are too dumbed down.
@farah Agree. Sometimes I think the writers deliberately lead us to believe it is someone else...
Updated look at wealth inequality in the US. Even those of us who deal with numbers on the regular can't really perceive the scale. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GxlL5-0m_g
Guess which of the bazillion tabs open in my browser is consuming the largest amount of system RAM by far? Ten points if you guessed LinkedIn. Resource Monitor said the tab was consuming a whopping 1.6 gigs of memory just now. In fairness, I guess all that tracking and AI garbage does require a lot of resources.
Runebender GPUI WIP
This is pure Rust, no CSS, no JS, clean, simple. This is the kind of software modernist designers who actually believed in something beyond surface aesthetics would have wanted.
@elih Is this the GPUI from Zed?
Shocker, the deskilling machine successfully deskills school kids - to the tune of them being a full year behind their peers who are "left behind" by *checks notes* actually learning!

Today Zohran Mamdani released 170,000 documents revealing that post-9/11 asbestos levels remained dangerous up to half a mile away 10 months after the attack, despite officials saying the air was safe.
As we saw at the start of the COVID pandemic, 25 years on officials have learned nothing and continue to treat frontline and essential workers as expendable during crises.
This is a huge and long-overdue step in the right direction.
Other reasons I may have wanted to remain in bed this morning, a sir engaging in a joint effort foray into Blanket Technology with me.
Cat bed selfies for the cat bed selfies god though I'm barely visible etc.

@ajroach42 I'm planning to do basically do the same, watch through as many as I can
@famousblueben I've been planning to pick it back up. I found a huge collection of Saturday Night and Pro and World Wide, and I think I'm going to focus on those this time soon.
May your skies be unreal, friends. With Earl.
Weighted blankets? Oh, you mean my cats.
Don't stare at America, you'll go blind.
@shlee my first option made a big difference, other people find their first option is not as useful...
The bliss of a brain that is not constantly firing at 16 targets was quite a surprise
They are tiny, and I'm printing at 0.08mm layer height so that the threads actually print well enough to engage
@petrillic I’ve always had way better success expanding threads slightly out of spec, then using a cheap and nasty tap and die to cut the threads to size
Incredible command over blanket technology from Karvinen this morning. He moved aside the top of my blanket enough to sneak under it, do a little turn, and curl up on my chest and shoulder. He got up to do something else and came back a couple of times! I thought about attempting a photo, but another cat was sleeping on my middle so I didn't feel like it and went back to sleep instead. Very soft and cute.
Dear Americans. A legit British English word which entered English from French in the 15th century, is "trumpery".
Meaning something that looks flashy or attractive but is actually cheap, fake or without value. Applied to speech it's almost synonymous with the USian "trash talk".
Also, long before Donnie came along, in British slang to trump meant to fart.
I would love for y'all to co-opt these words because there is plausible deniability: they're already in the dictionaries!
You're welcome.
