I also recently came to accept the current usage, to avoid further misunderstanding. In more elaborate presentations and classes on OA and OS I will continue to also bring across the more nuanced and historically correct interpretations of the terms though.
@jeroenbosman Also fighting this as a lost battle. Really annoys me, to be honest, disproportionately so.

I hate with a passion any kind of reporting that describes problems among teenagers as caused by "screen time". It depicts it as some kind of flaw among young people who deliberately spend too much time on their phones.
Call it for what it is: abusive practices by a handful of tech corporations. They profit from products deliberately designed to create addiction, and particularly so among children and teenagers.
Stop blaming victims and start blaming the perpetrators.

When OpenAI bought Astral, I feared this was a way to influence the future of #Python. Their latest blog post about Packaging Council endorsements is a clear sign in that direction.
And it's no surprise that it's the only post not written by a person ("The Astral Team").
Just had an astronomy equipment parade across campus to set up for a photo shoot later in the week. I was at the rear of the parade to watch for things to fall off the 2 rather broken, ancient pieces of equipment in front of me (that look cool, therefore, photo shoot).
I really felt like I should have been waving and throwing candy at the students we walked past. "Clear skies!"

@sundogplanets Oh, I still have one "sad old refractor" as well. With that one the first thing I saw when I brought it home was saturn. That was in august 2017 and the start of my astronomical observations. My newton with a goto arrived shortly after in october.
the fact that the grapheneos project completely ignores the externalities of their burgeoning collective psychosis and instead angrily insists to all who will listen that they are very special and can totally handle it is a great reason to throw your smartphone into the ocean as quickly as possible

As we set off on a walk to the lac with Alonso, a large fox crossed the road ahead of us and ran into our field. 🦊
Alonso didn't see the fox, but as he passed the entrance he picked up the scent and suddenly dashed into the field, first one way, then the other, then ran off around the path around our hedgeline.
We're pretty sure the fox was long gone, but from a distance we saw him bounding back and forth chasing an invisible quarry, and then... 🌬️
like Keyser Söze ... he was gone!
Natürlich kann man aus einer Partei aus- und in eine andere eintreten. Aber wenn man ein Mandat als Vertreter einer bestimmten politischen Partei erhalten hat, täuscht und betrügt man die Wähler, wenn man es bei einem Parteiwechsel nicht niederlegt.
