Today I learned that in 1971, activists planned a "shit-in" to disrupt the Chicago O'Hare airport by occupying every bathroom stall and urinal. They did not actually execute the protest because just the threat of it brought City Hall to the negotiating table.

A new identity theft service launched on the dark web this week is selling digital scans of more than 153 million drivers licenses from people in the United States and Canada. Based on interviews with individuals whose licenses are available for purchase on this service, it appears to be siphoning images collected by a widely-used identity verification company based in Louisiana. KrebsOnSecurity also has learned that the New Orleans field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) today launched an official inquiry into the source of the images.

Question for travelers - Say you needed to go to San Francisco from Vermont for a trip on a Weds-Sat. It's about 9 hours of flying. Then you need to be back in SF a week later (flying on the next Friday). DO YOU FLY HOME IN BETWEEN? Or just stay in SF for the week?
I was just planning to fly home on Saturday and then fly out the next Friday, spending 5 days at home. (It's just plane trips!) But so far most people, including my family, seem to think I'm crazy!
@danyork it’s not crazy to fly back, and flying is fine and mostly chill even these days. I’d still stay in SF, though, if it wasn’t a financial issue. You’re out, so might as well take some time to explore/enjoy the area.

Absolutely. We need better monitoring. I haven’t looked if the latest draft does anything to address that.
I think it would be useful if the client would communicate to the server how many IP addresses it tried before the current one. Then from the server side there can be some visibility into when clients are failing over. And ideally this would be implemented in a way that’s not HTTP specific as the spec should apply to all TCP based protocols and not just HTTP.
I recently implemented Happy Eyeballs support for our outgoing emails. And I made it a priority to include monitoring. So we now have metrics in Prometheus on how often we fail over, and we have alerts if there is an unusually high number of fail overs.
