Question for travelers - Say you needed to go to San Francisco from Vermont for a trip on a Weds-Sat. It's about 9 hours of flying. Then you need to be back in SF a week later (flying on the next Friday). DO YOU FLY HOME IN BETWEEN? Or just stay in SF for the week?
I was just planning to fly home on Saturday and then fly out the next Friday, spending 5 days at home. (It's just plane trips!) But so far most people, including my family, seem to think I'm crazy!
@danyork it’s not crazy to fly back, and flying is fine and mostly chill even these days. I’d still stay in SF, though, if it wasn’t a financial issue. You’re out, so might as well take some time to explore/enjoy the area.
I mean, that’s six days to run through some very nice bakeries, definitely worth doing. 😁

Concur with stay in the Bay area, for airline pain reasons already mentioned.
Doesn't have to be SF proper, I once stayed at a three star in Emeryville and had a rental car to drive into SF, very acceptable. Emeryville is a little town at the other end of the Oakland Bay bridge, nestled between Oakland and Berkeley. Home to Pixar (not sure if still, or previously).
@danyork I voted stay in SF, because the thought of that much flying makes my skin crawl, but I might conjure up some side trip, like take Amtrak up to Portland or Truckee.
