@poxviridae @benjamin well those i describe can be either homemade, or SDR, or using traditional radio equipment like radio ham, CB, FM etc.
apparently a 2.4GHz lora is coming also... there are some ISMs on 6 and 13MHz also... the only limit is the sky (and bouncing on the ionosphere, or the moon! ;)) )
This sounds quaint but do you have any idea how pissed off you have to make people in the Pig Empire to sign up for a phone ap just to keep track of which products made in your country they're not gonna buy? To just *sell* their Apple products, and stop using our social media? Woof man.
Also, Canadians are a ppl that tend to pride themselves on being restrained - for them to be saying "I will NEVER buy your shit again" says something.
Naming things is hard.
I used a startup name generator for Pixelfed using several terms until I found one that had the available .com, .net and .org domains available.
Before I wrote any code, I wanted to lock down the brand with domains and a GitHub, Mastodon.social and Twitter account.
I’ll never forget the criticism when I announced the name a month later, “fed sounds like federal”, “such a dumb name”, etc… but it did eventually stick 😅
#OtD 29 Aug 1979 after years of fruitless campaigning, 30-40 activists took direct action and occupied the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare in protest at homosexuality being classified as a mental illness. They quickly won https://stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/12479/lgbt-occupation-of-swedish-health-board

@dansup Someone criticizing a dog on the Internet has just nothing else to do that is more interesting, he's just seeking for attention..

Generative AI is a machine which immediately eats any human creativity we might dare come up with, so that it can be sold back to us by tech oligarchs.
There is no "responsible" use of this. It is an enclosure of knowledge and a massive power grab. One of the most disgusting uses of technology outside of warfare (but it's used there too!). If you feel like it's helping you write code or whatever... in the end, it really isn't. It's helping the tech oligarchs monopolize OSS. 1/3
Only money I accept.
@joenepraat ja, want waarom kiezen tussen "natuur" en "mensen", als het allebei kan? 😀
edit: dit zijn niet de door de EU voorgestelde mensen, zie ik net 😊
@distractal I jave to say though, that Jose Mujica sounds genuinely unbelievably amazing. ...I must have slept under a rock - thx for sharing. Feels very unusual - and not having looked deeper into it and not being really familiar, i cant really say much.
I really would love to onow why or how this was possible and he seems to still influence and support the current president too.
Still, given ~200 countries in the world, it seems to be an exception.
@distractal I'm still in favour of building grass roots mutual support and reduce dependence on big politics as much as possible. Not saying its possible to have no politics, but trying to push into that direction to see how resilient and decentralized we can make it is what we shpuld strive for.
Depending on the benevolent president takes one assasination or maybe media campaign and all progress can be undone - waaaay to risky.
