📵 GrapheneOS has advised against buying the Google Pixel 11 device due to removed ARM MTE support, crucial for security. They plan to focus on the Motorola partnership instead, and may skip the Pixel 11 series entirely.

Domani riapre la linea locale tra Roma Tiburtina e Roma Tuscolana. Dovrebbe essere tutto pronto.

I am sharing this video for posterity, because future generations will have a hard time believing that this was the social media account of an elected US president.
But this is real.
@randahl
YMCA? As I recall the music video of that song, it's basically The Blue Oyster from Police Academy.
Why is he using one of the gayest songs ever?
OH: I'm gonna need a hug?
@pikesley_ebooks @pikesley you rang?
My latest books cartoon for @theguardian.com@bsky.brid.gy
Hm. So, Alpine doesn't look like it's headed towards an acceptable LLM policy, where an acceptable policy means "no slop".

Bello eh, ma anche no.
Your nation has some of the highest electricity costs in the world (I was spending upwards of $280/month in Wellington <2017 for a tiny, studio flat with one PC and one laptop. Flatmates fight each other over space heaters!) Your nationalized airline failed as is now private. Your national payment system for teachers failed so colossally some of them didn't get paid for months! Meanwhile your teachers actively fought PACT (a program I was contracted on), a program to measure student/teacher progression through school.
UBI is overall a terrible idea, but the NZ government (which retroactively changed the laws to make it legal for the GCSB to spy on all citizens) would somehow make it 50x worse.
Unless we have unlimited power as cheap as ocean water and replicators to 3D print everything from unlimited energy, UBI will not work. It will create a State where people on UBI are now slaves to the government, few of which will produce any value. It will be nothing like Star Trek and everything like The Expanse.
@djsumdog This is quite a jumble of unrelated stuff. Let's start with the general dunking on Aotearoa;
> Your nation has some of the highest electricity costs in the world
Agreed. Mainly due to corporatising most of what was a publicly-owned electricity network, including the renewable generation. Although it's only expensive if you're paying retail bills, not for industrial users buying on the spot market.

Anything that isn't for cringy boomers on Paramount+ ?
Trump's trade counselor Peter Navarro complains that Canadians lack self-reflection, because they have imposed tariffs on the US, AFTER Trump tore apart the USMCA trade deal and imposed a truck load of tariffs on Canada.
Let me repeat that: The guy who has volunteered to work for Donald Trump complains that Canadians lack self-reflection.
Wow.
Navarro to Canada: "Your country screws us"

@randahl and it’s the same idiot who invented “sources” in a book of his using an anagram of his own god damn name 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Big Tech’s unchecked AI boom is fuelling climate devastation and autonomous warfare while extracting planetary resources without accountability.
It’s time to stand up and RESIST this reckless expansion.

@Tutanota How complicated is it to move from Gmail? How can I inform all my contacts, possibly without sending out a bulk email saying “Hey! Here is my new email address…”?
How does the end-to-end encryption work? Where is the decryption key stored? Can I choose to not store it in my account and keep it on an another physical support?
As the weakest link in the chain makes the whole chain weak, how secure is it if I send emails to Gmail account, and can Google still access them?
@mattiz6276 I'd recommend moving slowly and informing friends as you go along. You can have an auto-forward from Gmail, and always reply from Tuta. This way they learn as they get in touch with you.
The keys for the encryption are encrypted with the help of your password and stored on our servers - but only accessible to you. So please do not lose your password!!!
If you send to Gmail, Google can still read the email. But over time, you'll convince your friends as well, it only takes time.
Une enseignante envoie une blague dans Snapchat en messages privé à 3 potes : 60 minutes plus tard la police débarque pour l'arrêter.
L'IA de Snapchat n'a pas compris la blague et a alerté le FBI.

Today, we designated ChatGPT as a Very Large Online Search Engine and Reddit and Roblox as Very Large Online Platforms under the DSA.
These services indicated that they reach at least 45 million average monthly users in the EU and thus meet the threshold for designation.
ChatGPT, Reddit and Roblox, will now be held to a higher standard of scrutiny and accountability in the EU, in line with their large impact on our citizens and society.

@TheBreadmonkey I don’t think that’s right. It’s still around May, isn’t it?
@stage7 Probably! Though most still seem familiar
@halcy Ah yes you're right, I double-checked and many of the old ones still are there, and that the changes have been into effect since at least April 2025 as per this video:
(Ikebukuro starts from 5:31) Glad that せせらぎ was not changed, it's my personal fav~.
(God, there's a shot of the old Harajuku station and I miss it so much...)
Two days of conference gone and I have not seen a single presentation using those ugly AI-made slides. Proud of my peers 💪
@jorgeluis 😯 what is this magical land you're reporting from & how do I get there?
