@christianselig I have a lot of time in the Ioniq 5 and would have one already if it weren't for the ICCU issues. I do TONS of road tripping all across WA/OR/ID and I can't take the risk on the failure mode on the ICCU (can leave you suddenly totally stranded). It's a problem on all 3 of these cars with the 800v architecture, FTR.

Ahora en serio, sobre lo de #PISA recomiendo leer las muy diferentes opiniones informadas que ha recogido el #ScienceMediaCentre, que apuntan a unos cuantos factores interesantes que, ninguna sorpresa, no aparecen en los comentarios de trazo grueso que estoy viendo en medios (la prensa, pero no toda, sigue siendo la magra excepción a la banalidad de los medios audiovisuales y las redes propietarias).
Algunos aspectos que se mencionan:
* Medir horas de uso tecnológico es insuficiente; el factor clave es el diseño didáctico y la intención pedagógica del docente.
* El impacto de la IA depende de si se usa como atajo para hacer deberes o como herramienta guiada en clase.
* El descenso en familias de alto nivel cultural no se explica por más dispositivos, sino por peor conciliación y menos apoyo familiar.
* El empeoramiento de comunidades bilingües no se debe a la lengua, ya que antes tenían buenos resultados; requiere un estudio por comunidad.
* La bajada en lectura no es solo por pantallas; la población adulta tampoco sirve de modelo lector y la competencia se desarrolla desde la infancia.
* PISA (de la O DE conviene recordar) mide solo tres competencias y deja fuera valores, convivencia, artes y humanidades.
* Los adolescentes leen más que nunca en su tiempo libre; lo que ha cambiado es su capacidad de atención en textos largos y complejos.
* Los países más digitalizados (Estonia, Japón, Corea) tienen altos rendimientos, así que el problema no es la tecnología, sino el acompañamiento.
* España destaca en convivencia, pertenencia, bajo acoso y curiosidad, aspectos que los rankings no reflejan pero que son esenciales en educación.

On some level I know better than to sound off about this sorrow here, because I imagine I know what kind of response it’ll garner. But I’m watching someone I’ve known for a long time go well and truly off the AI deep end, and you know what? It hurts.
That’s what we don’t talk about enough: the unsustainable shear that opens up between people when they commit to differing visions of our future with this stuff. It’s like losing someone you care about to MAGA – or worse, even: to Q.

Just had an astronomy equipment parade across campus to set up for a photo shoot later in the week. I was at the rear of the parade to watch for things to fall off the 2 rather broken, ancient pieces of equipment in front of me (that look cool, therefore, photo shoot).
I really felt like I should have been waving and throwing candy at the students we walked past. "Clear skies!"

Me encantaría que hicieran un informe PISA entre los adultos.
Un estudio que midiera año a año las competencias escolares de adultos que salieron ya del instituto 5, 10 y 20 años atrás.
Mi apuesta es que encontraríamos un descenso similar al de los niños en nivel lector, matemático, científico… porque todas las generaciones hoy están siendo a la vez víctimas de:
- La misma crisis de atención causada por las pantallas.
- los mismos niveles de desinformación y túneles de gusano ideológicos.
- El mismo desprecio por resolver de cabeza tareas intelectuales que ya les resuelven las máquinas.
- La certeza de que tener mucha cultura ya no da estatus.
- El ensimismamiento en mundos de entretenimiento cada vez más absorbentes.
- La búsqueda placer inmediato a que nos aboca toda la publicidad de consumo.
- La intuición de que, rota la escalera social, ya no merece la pena esforzarse tanto con los estudios.
- Etc.

We are ok, but many of us Hawaiians and other residents have been severely devastated by hurricane Lowell. Silver Spook hui will keep doing what we can but folks can use help. (The US occupation of Hawaii multiplies the damage, and uses it as disaster capitalism / colonialism opportunity.)

Wir versuchen gerade, die #Zoe meines 90-jährigen Vaters in #Duesseldorf zu verkaufen. Das Auto ist knapp fünf Jahre alt (EZ 10/21), stand de facto nur in der Garage und hat aktuell 4.400 km "auf der Uhr".
Das Fahrzeug hat eine 52 kW Kaufbatterie, ist unfallfrei und es gibt nur ein paar feine (oberflächige) Schlieren im Lack.
