If making music with samples is your thing, the #Bonkwave sample challenge is running as part of the Winter Wonderbonk submission too.
To participate you have to use content from a limited pack of pre-selected samples to create your track.
Submissions close September 6th, 2026 at 23:59 UTC.
More info here: https://bonkwave.org/board/index.php?topic=341.0
Left a bad review on eBay after being messed around and sent a broken product twice.
Seller said they'd refund me if I amended the review.
I agreed.
They refunded.
Review amended to say they are gaming the review system.
Clowns.
in the last 5ish years i've seen a pivot from "Terrorism is the reason we need people with automatic rifles at airports and cameras everywhere spying on you" to "Terrorism is a word that means doing anything for political reasons other than voting. in a democracy, you vote. politics is voting. everything else, like protesting or direct action or even publishing the wrong thing, is Terrorism. you must only vote, that is all that is allowed"

@Floppy I feel like this needlessly inflates how many fascists there actually are. every time someone is revealed to be a fascist, it’s a whole news story - because it’s relatively rare.
But because you hear about every fascist who happens to maintain or lead something, they seems a lot more than the thousands of people who aren’t fascist, who are just quietly maintaining something without fanfare or big red alerts.
#smashBorders
can anyone recommend a headless cms they trust?
e.g. for publishing hugo generated static sites with an integration
my research so far brings me to these constraints:
1) no byzantine config (like decamp/sveltia)
2) not run by a rug pulling wannabe megacorp (directus et al)?
3) doesn't require a tonne of auxiliary services when self-hosted (directus et al)
there's a sort of gold rush of headless cms products firing on all cylinders right now and the llm bomb didn't help
@d1
you told 3 things it shouldn't be.
What should it be?
P.S.: one week ago, I wrote "Blogging like it's 2030" https://blog.mro.name/2026/08/bloggen-wie-2030/
The "turns out" is rather load bearing since anyone with basic social competencies has usually gone "whoah that guy is an asshole" decades before he does the roman salute, but get told "nooo it's just his special way of working you have to respect his skills" by nerds.
If you want to use GCS without adding a metric fucktonne of extra dependencies to your Go project: https://github.com/git-pkgs/gcs
@andrewnez would you like to submit it to #Guix where #guixgoteam will catch them up ^.-
Japan is right to support the ICC and its Japanese president. But support should not mean treating the institution as immune from scrutiny. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/commentary/2026/08/28/japan/icc-view-from-tokyo/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #commentary #japan
Speaking about #Prince, the new posthumous album *Timeless* has been released today. Although I don't like it that they have put tracks together from different periods without a common theme, there are some really great tracks on here. Now listening on high quality.
On all streaming platforms and other locations.

My wife bought new salad cutlery and because of the weird number of arms on the fork my first impulse was "that's AI". Which of course doesn't make sense because I was holding the object in my hands.
@tante If you find yourself holding this, count your fingers.

Hi @chpietsch
thanks for helping and greetings to Italy,
is `.org` differerent from `.it`or `.eu` in regards of delisting or are all tlds subject to such ICANN orders?
@mro @chpietsch .org is owned and operated by a US non profit company called PIR https://pir.org/for-orgs/faq/ while most of the two letter domains are owned by companies inside their respective countries.
