Today I learned that #ImageMagick has been slopped for some time. Like many tools, it's been load-bearing infrastructure for decades.
Meanwhile, the #GraphicsMagick fork has been quietly chugging along for 24 years. For most of that time, it's been maintained by a single human being.
That person has been asking for additional developer help for years now. While I don't have the skills to help directly, I can talk about it while I take their kindly offered toys out for a test drive.
Well, butts.
I took a look at the possibility of uninstalling ImageMagick on my OpenBSD system, and it turns out that it is a dependency for inkscape.
That's a program we use regularly here at the clown house.
It seems I'm stuck with both for the moment.

I really like that Collider as a pop culture channel has a positivity to it, and respect and love for artists. It seems it is genuine interest in how things are made and why. With the Moss interview I saw she seemed to finally get to answer questions not primarily about being female, pregnant while filming etcetera. Just questions about choices and love of craft. And no questions intended to trip someone up, which is also a breath of fresh air!

AutoCAD release 13 (1994), the first version to include a solid modeller.
This was the optional "documentation pack", a quite fancy boxed set of the manuals. Imagine it cost quite a bit!
Despite the quite fetching box design, the software manuals are still plain old manuals!

That doesn't sound like a denial. This kind of escalation from the 40-50 US personnel traditionally stationed there - with no regard for Taiwanese interests - certainly fits with the warmongering stance of the Orange Stalin administration.

To be clear, I'm not making an argument about what's ethical, but what's logical.
Put yourself in the CCP's shoes. You see the US thumbing its nose at the One China Policy that kept Taiwan nonpartisan and mostly demilitarised for decades. You get intelligence that they're ramping up military personnel numbers there. What would you do?
My point is, the best thing the US can for the security of Taiwan is to stay out of its business. Any risk they now face has been created by US actions.
