Ah shit. Been hit with a wave of 37k bot hits on my blog. As much as I'd like to believe that thousands of people in Uzbekistan and Iraq love my posts from 2008, I think I'm being scraped.

Can anyone personally recommend a PHP/WordPress way to block AI scrapers?

(Please don't tell me to use a different blogging platform. I also don't want to use a CDN. Sympathy not required but practical advice welcome.)

@d_rift also this book was clearly written by a big NSA prime number fan so i feel really bad recommending it https://archive.org/details/gdelsproof00nage/page/n133/mode/2up particularly because it made me feel hilbert's bullshit might have been vaguely interesting at one point -- i strongly urge you (when you have the time to devote to it--it's not long at all) to read it in the voice of an NSA crypto head who thinks if they prime number hard enough they can defeat god

especially there is an intrinsic give and take between:

1. "serial" enciphering (analogized to formulas of notation)
2. "parallel" DH PRNG extraction (analogized to godel numbering of statements)

they raise goldbach's conjecture offhand once right after mentioning that the even integers are a group but the odds aren't (i guess evens would be a ring, while the primes are an abelian group). the relationship to goldbach's "every even number can be expressed as the sum of two primes" is just DEEPLY fascinating.

the author makes the point that there is in fact just enough room for godel to add a "mirror" big enough to hold the meta-mathematical statements godel made to defeat hilbert

@d_rift idk if you saw but i also found that lattices and ECC are quite literally both two parts of the same method to crack finite-field diffie-hellman from lenstra in 1982-1985. so the reason we're all dealing with these waves of bullshit is because:

• yes, it is literally supposed to be obfuscated if you are looking for protection from it and not trying to fuck everyone over
• it's really great if they can make it seem like elliptic curves and lattices are not just flatly obviously ways to break diffie-hellman over a finite field

Tech giants and their platforms are harmful to kids and everyone else.
Banning kids from them is a bad idea because it requires all of us to give up our privacy, for no gain, as kids will still get on. This has been proven.

But on top of that, our government, again, uses the excuse of "Protecting Children" to ban them from one of the few spaces they have left, harmful as they often may be.
Our profit driven, car dependent world means kids have little to no autonomy, few to none cheap or free activities. They need to ask to be driven anywhere they want to meet their friends. They need money for any activities. Except online.
These fools in govt don't care about kids. But now they use their "protection" to further isolate them.
Are they proposing making public transport free or cheap so they can meet their friends in person instead? No.
Are they supporting bikes or cycle lanes so they can safely move independently? No.
Are they funding clubs, sports, arts, culture, games or other activities they can do instead of chatting or posting on corporate social media? Lol no.
So what are kids supposed to be doing to socialise and spend their free time?
You betcha they'll find ways around this. They have to. They've got almost nothing else.

Not to mention queer and neurodivergent kids whose entire community might be online only. Flawed as platforms may be. What happens with them?
They'll have to find a way around the ban too.

Meanwhile all of us will be forced to show our government mandated ID every time we want to shitpost on our government approved, adult only socials.

There's no benefit for kids, you should know these ghouls don't care about them.
It's about entrenching control and power over all of us, further isolating kids from each other and avoiding regulating those causing the harm for profit.
