Aus juristischer Sicht ist das mit Merz und dem Eierlecken eine ganz klare Sache:

> We are completely overwhelmed, of course. The glimmer of hope is that we secured sufficient LLM budget and access (thank you Meta!) to run reviews with multiple frontier models on each patch. This eliminates some hallucinations. That said, in terms of review, the LLMs can only do so much. The sad truth is that our APIs (especially for rare events like PCIe errors, timeouts etc.) have always been racy, and now LLMs don't let us ignore that. I expect our direction for the next release will be to tweak the reviews a little bit more, but start shifting focus to letting the LLMs take care of the busy work - managing patchwork, automating common process complaints, editing commit messages, and maybe applying patches which already got "reviewed-by" tags from people we trust...
I look at the above and can't help but wonder if this is the "vibe bobsled" in action https://dustycloud.org/blog/faulty-towers-vibe-sickness-and-the-vibe-bobsled/
@cwebber so Linux is now dependent on and increasingly controlled by Meta.
WTF are these people thinking?
I hope 2025 & 2026 have adequately prepared everyone for the shitshow that will be 2027:
Strongest El Niño and highest global temperature on record
Energy and affordability crisis from the illegal war
End of 3-year federal science grants awarded in 2024
AI bubble bursting
Continued rise of fascism
En faisant du rangement, je retombe sur le manuel de l’Acorn ATOM, mon 2e ordinateur après le #ZX81. C’est avec lui que j’ai appris l’assembleur #6502.
“This manual explains how to connect up the ATOM, and how to program it in BASIC or Assembler”.
Fun fact: l’entreprise Acorn a évoluée en « Acorn RISC Machines », maintenant connue sous le nom d’ARM, qui équipe probablement votre smartphone.
Catodon development update 22/8/2026
I'm back from vacation and have started fully working again towards the next Catodon stable release, which will probably be 26.9.0 - I decided to add a couple more major features, plus there are a few bugs reported on codefloe, so I don't think we can make it for August.
BUT! Catodon.rocks now has multi server accounts - meaning you can not only switch between local catodon accounts, but you can also connect your Mastodon, Misskey, Pixelfed, Friendica etc accounts and use them through Catodon's UI! There is also a masonry layout added for the new Media timeline, based on the feedback we got in this post. Both features include significant changes and there will definitely be some bugs, so please test them and report anything that seems off to you or you think could be improved. It will take a little time to iron everything out, but 26.9.0 will be a huge step for Catodon!

I have been struggling with self-doubt and motivation recently as far as photography is concerned - I felt like I had run out of ideas - so I decided to go back to my first real passion, nature.
An early morning in the woods, just wandering and looking and feeling, with no plan or ideas or projects cluttering my mind, helped immensely.
My eyes quickly adjusted to seeing light and shadow, colour, texture, pattern, so that's what I focused on.

However an operation using Barrett’s or Montgomery’s modular reduction methods will only be faster than the same operation using the classical modular reduction if the pre- and postcalculations and the m-residue transformation (only for Montgomery) are subsequently compensated for by enough (faster) modular reductions. An example of such an operation is modular exponentiation.

Je viens de recevoir un email :
Apparemment je m'appelle Marylou et je viens de faire une télé-consultation avec le docteur KOCHKARIAN.
2026 ça va trop vite pour moi.
@sebsauvage et quelle note donne tu à l'experience ?
@ChrisMayLA6 except, there's no such thing as unskilled labour. All labour requires a level of skill.
That's a fair comment; I was using 'skilled' in its dominant way, but I would agree what we're really talking about is different sorts of skills (not least the difference between explicit & tacit skills)
The implementation is written in ANSI C [4] and hence should be portable to any computer for which an implementation of the ANSI C standard exists.
they then go on to say they're running this on a 33 MHz 80836 machine

The Finance Ministry is considering setting the assumed interest rate on long-term Japanese government bonds at 3.8% in its fiscal 2027 budget request, sources have said. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/business/2026/08/22/markets/japan-assumed-bond-interest-rate-38/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #business #markets #financeministry #jgb #boj #sanaetakaichi #japaneseeconomy #budgets
Fascinating study. What this historical evidence shows is that, during a critical period of development, even relatively small differences in sugar exposure over a short period may leave effects that are still observable half a century later.
(Disclaimer: I was one of those babies born under sugar rationing).
