To your point about choosing OSes, though, one thing I don't get is there is a case for less-Linux-savvy user being a less optimal use case for Debian, but in that case wouldn't Mint be best?

This is so thoughtful about how we place our attention and then how we do our own thinking. There are times when it’s apparent how hard it is to do both.

I often have this feeling that good things won't last and that someone will soon do or say something terrible to me... Or take it all away from me. Or blame me for even trying. Or give me shit about the choices I've made.
I still often feel that I don't deserve happiness or anything good in this world. It might be due to trauma, anxiety, or past depression (I believe nobody ever truly heals those wounds, but instead learns to live with them in "remission").
I hope things last this time. I know these are just late-night thoughts in a heightened emotional state and not necessarily true.
PS. Postdrome is the worst.

An interesting theme developing with Hikaru: he admonishes Roy Fokker for being a murderous soldier, but Fokker takes that in stride and *still* protects and mentors Hikaru. Once thrust into the war, Hikaru is freaking out at the inescapable violence, but more important to him is that he shields Minmay from it all. I want to know just how his convictions are going to break, and how Minmay might judge him.

Whatever you think about Iran or it's government, they're not stupid right? If you can see that this just gets worse for Trump every day, from halfway across the world in your living room, the Iranians can see it too.
It just doesn't make a lot of sense for them to change the equation when the equation is resulting in them WINNING everything, on every front.
If this drags on for like another year, the US might have to withdraw from the MENA entirely - nobody will want us there cause we bring Iranian missiles.
It makes no sense for them to change anything. So they won't.

I mean look, I am not a member of the Iranian government. But lets say I was, and the US has been attacking my country for months. I can't very well bomb Mar-A-Lago, but I'm not going to lose this war the normal way either.
My best strategy would be to take Trump right to the midterms and after he gets washed say "future US presidents should take this as a warning; we will end Trump's career, and we can end yours too."
That's the smart play. So they're prolly doing that.
