@canusfeminacanis In China I used to go to a restaurant that had a QRcode on each table. Customers could order at the counter on arrival. But we could also scan the QRcode to order and pay digitally, and the meal would be delivered to our table.
Don't know what tech was involved. But it was very helpful when they were busy, allowing them to spend less time taking orders and processing payments, and more time cooking and busing tables.
It’s interesting how a moment in time can transform the use of a technology.
With the adoption and normalisation of QR codes I think that time, certainly in AoNZ, was the Covid pandemic with QR codes being used to record location data into your personal Covid app.
