@abstractcode pretty much
birds that sound like squeaky dog chew toys:
- cassin's kingbird
- juvenile cooper's hawk
- ??
But now I need a name!
@algernon Unused bridge
It's kind of crazy that back in the day to make these cover photos they had to actually cut off someone's hand

The crypto industry wants favorable policy, and it certain helps with the Trump family is making big bucks from it.
On #TechWontSaveUs, I spoke with @molly0xfff to discuss how the AI industry is trying to replicate how crypto bought political influence.

@camertron Absolutely.
Democratized software development is being able to develop software using good, reliable tools for roughly $0.
As I have for a long, long time.
Meanwhile, devs are having to pay $$$, with costs now skyrocketing, to "build" software completely beholden to a handful of slop machines. Makes zero sense. (And no, "my employer pays for the tokens" is not an excuse!)
@jaredwhite Agree! I'm at RubyConf right now and someone literally said they don't remember how to use vim anymore because they haven't written code by themselves in a year.
I refuse to get caught with my pants down when this all explodes.
I found creative ways to get a lot of the political junk out of my timeline. I’m going to have to start doing so with a lot of the rampant AI hatred.
@technocounselor Yeah same, I'm sick of the AI haters as well.
A search warrant is issued by a judge, who must find that there is probable cause that the material contains evidence of a crime. But that determination is "ex parte", meaning that the target is not there to argue the other side before the order is issued. You find out about a search warrant when they show up and take stuff, and there's generally nothing you can do about it until after the seizure has happened.
@mattblaze Great thread.
I left it running overnight. It's now 85GiB.
@jpm you hooking up an external PRBS tester to it or are you using a tester block onboard?

#Wildfires #Smoke If you can swing one of these, they are some of the best air purifiers around. The Corsi-Rosenthal Foundation and other nonprofits have info on their websites about to assemble your own from box fans and furnace filters too. https://www.cleanairkits.com/collections/shop-all
@beka_valentine Agreed, I have dozens of "how to program" books I have looked at and I'd love to explore this concept more so when I read them, I will be able to think about it from this new direction.
@davebauerart ive yet to find a "how to program" book that's actually about how to program. they're always "the X programming language"
maybe im finding the wrong books, i dunno
This is stunning...
One political action committee, just one, AIPAC, is spending eight times El-Sayed's ENTIRE campaign budget to defeat him!
Say this a million times

@beka_valentine I'd agree with that, overall, I would like to think I got better and more intentional after a while/ I have a whole hypothesis about learning and problem solving skills and how they develop but the level of knowledge applied is quite variable across a population, for sure.
@davebauerart oh people definitely get better and more intentional! :)
but its like getting good at building bridges by building a hundred bridges, rather than by learning about how load distributes through materials and then building a good bridge the first time around
@mewproj @JEkis @alexchapman just to let you know, yes he does. he has updated it recently.
@JamminJerry @mewproj @JEkis That's right, although I don't know much about synth addons for NVDA, I just did what was needed to get DECTalk usable on modern NVDA, I'm probably gonna need help from others in order to fix some of the other querks though, so I'm certainly welcoming PRs.
