helpful mastodon users once again making me regret being perceived by letting me know that I can always edit my long internet posts to meet character length requirements via very convenient and user-friendly interactive textbox editor "wc -c"
@0xabad1dea I’m sure if you need help installing Linux you will find it. Or, especially, if you don’t.
@TheBreadmonkey @Nickiquote Heckin buses in Oxford / Didcot / Diamond. Always felt like I could be midsummer murdered at anytime. Where are we going now? Is this really the right way?
And SO FAST
Apple has open-sourced corecrypto, the foundational cryptographic library in Apple operating systems

@campuscodi "Open-source*" but not FOSS
@inquiline definitely a plant the Addams Family would own.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that the Bone Museum in Brooklyn has a cat, and the cats name is Bone Jovi.
Bone Jovi, the bone museum cat.
Does anyone know what the considerations are when a news site, such as NOS, deliberately embeds Twitter/X posts in an article but does not embed Mastodon posts?
Could it be because the CMS does not support it, because it would put too much load on the #Mastodon server, because of the size of the community, allowlists or blocklists, CORS issues, or something else?

OK, don't know what a "NOS" is -- never heard of it
But if it doesn't offer me -- within its own web pages -- to translate to English I could not care less
Not a Firefox browser plugin, a native in-page translation
Sorry
No, not sorry
Go, Ben, go!

CUNY, which stands for College Under New York, holds its classes on random subway trains.

@TheBreadmonkey
What a day! Glad you finally arrived at your destination.
That kind of heat is a real damper.
Great photos!

A while back, a man in his 70s looked at my bike skeptically.
"Why do your ride it?"
When I said "saves money," "doesn't pollute," he scoffed. But he agreed when he said it was good for my health.
I forgot to tell him real reason: Joy.
Day in, day out, my bike makes me happy.

@Shelfie is working with autistic adults, and is doing the modules.
but she already thinks i am.
i am still awaiting a formal assessment, but it seems to be the general consensus.
I'm by no means an expert but your particular brand of whatever it is you are intersects hard with whatever particular brand I am, and I'm apparently autistic up and out the wazoo. Super autism. It would be extremely surprising to me if you were not. If you're not you are a new thing, the likes of which has never been seen on this planet under our yellow star. Perhaps the End Times.
@denisburgerjr Yes.

@Kishi @jernej__s @malwarejake I wonder if it is, in a world where metrics of “engagement” are more valued than actual quality.
@HarriettMB @2legged it doesn't take a forensic accountant to look at the SNP's accounts 7 years ago and ask "Where did all the money ringfenced for the referendum campaigns go?".
Sturgeon, Beattie, et al, are either complicit, or incompetent. Neither of those is a good look.
Because Murrell pled guilty none of them will ever be cross examined in public as to what they knew, when. But he only pled to 400K, when almost 700K is missing from the accounts.
@HarriettMB @2legged And part of her "time consuming job" was being his boss. That's why she's culpable, not because she is (still) married to him.
