I get frustrated when there's something I tried to figure out a long time ago, and a decade later I do a web search to see if anybody's done it yet, and my old broken attempt is the second search result

@infobeautiful that Y axis break is sure something
Open source maintainers at profitable companies: stop asking permission to fix what your employer already depends on.
No paperwork. No programme. No manager’s blessing. Just maintain it on the clock.
#UntrackMe 2.0 is now available on #FDroid. After more than 3 years without updates (deep links no longer worked on Android 12+), I finally redefined the app as a browser that checks links you tap to clean them before delegating the action to another app.
That was the only solution. I'll follow your feedback closely.

GlobalNews: Fiery collision between Tesla and Valley Line LRT sends 1 to hospital, shuts down overpass

@ai6yr goddamn, that was a clickbait compulsion because I had to figure out which of our LRT cities had a "Valley Line". Not mine, but the train cars are the same and this region is filthy with Tesla's cartoon bombs-on-wheels, it's bound to happen sometime soon in this city.
I haven't used #patreon in years, but was meaning to set up a subscription program for my writing. Obviously, I'm not really wanting to do that now, after their 'content changes'.
What do people use INSTEAD of patreon? (I am familiar with Ko-fi)
Please boost for more replies.
Just imagine eating #organicfoods straight from your own garden. Today, I tasted our own potatoes, and honestly they were so delicious.
They are not fully ready for harvest yet, but at least no one in the @econetwork group can sleep hungry. We have a place to learn grow and always find something to eat.
Farmers truly enjoy organic foods hhhh 🥔

Weren’t there different front ends for lemmy before. I think one of them was called photon. It was just a front-end where you could sign in with different instances
There does seem to be something by that name (for Lemmy) on GitHub.
I haven't tried it though.

Alcohol is perhaps the world's deadliest drug, causing millions of deaths, destroying lives and families. Yet in the U.S., at least, it's not seen as a public health emergency. @STAT has created this @Flipboard Storyboard about the booze epidemic, and how mass death and sickening of Americans due to drinking is a generational failure of health, industry and government systems, not an inevitability.

"Ask a twenty-two-year-old to connect to a remote server via SSH. Ask them to explain what DNS is at a conceptual level. Ask them to tell you the difference between their router’s public IP and the local IP of their laptop. Ask them to open a terminal and list the contents of a directory. These are not advanced topics. Twenty years ago these were things you learned in the first week of any serious engagement with computers."

In 1999, the assumptions we had about who would rule the internet were wildly off.
The rules of AI are still being written, right now. We have power to shape the future.
