If you are a man and not following The Public Offender you really are missing out on how to see and deconstruct misogyny & the patriarchy and understand how it harms everyone but especially women & children. He’s doing really great work that’s much appreciated by feminists, that more men should be doing. He can help you challenge your social circles giving you the information, understanding, words.
Last boost, I am hoping this is starting the final nail in the jaws coffin. This is a screen reader, think about that, a screen reader. If they didn't throw all the AI crapola in it in the first place, none of this would be needed. Remember, NVDA will never, ever require this. I hope the backlash is swift.
Ukraine's anti-corruption bureau has named Zelensky's former chief of staff a suspect in a money-laundering case. Prosecutors allege he was part of a group that laundered 460 million hryvnias — over $10 million — through real estate developments outside Kyiv. https://meduza.io/en/news/2026/05/11/ukraine-names-zelensky-s-former-chief-of-staff-andrii-yermak-a-suspect-in-money-laundering-case
Question for gardening fedi. Is it too late to sew tomatoes seeds? I'm in the Netherlands, and the plants will be on a balcony and a south facing window sill.
@quixoticgeek It depends on the sort. There are fast growing sorts and slow.
I'd check some fast sorts at
https://www.rareseeds.com/ - they are faschists and I wouldn't buy there but they are the only to give a fruiting time. Then you can try to get some fast fruiting sorts at vreekens.nl or any other good store.
Periodic reminder that “rate your pain on a scale from 1 to 10" is bullshit without reference points. People with chronic pain, tough guys, people with intense periods, and people who struggle with interoception all struggle when the endpoints are nebulous.
Let me introduce you to the DVPRS: https://www.va.gov/WHOLEHEALTHLIBRARY/docs/Defense-and-Veterans-Pain-Rating-Scale.pdf
It even works if you substitute pain for general impact. If you're asked to rate a symptom on a scale from 1 to 10, this works too.
0 = No pain
1 = Hardly notice pain
2 = Notice pain, does not interfere with activities
3 = Sometimes distracts me
4 = Distracts me, can do usual activities
5 = Interrupts some activities
6 = Hardto ignore, avoid usual activities
7 = Focus of attention, prevents doing daily activities
8 = Awful, hard to do anything
9 = Can’t bear the pain, unable to do anything
10 = As bad as it could be, nothing else matters
10 is still pretty subjective there, but "nothing else matters" is clear enough, and really 9 or 10 isn't really a big difference in how much it matters clinically. (It tells the clinician if an intervention helps though)
"The end result of all of this is that we grew from 2k users to almost 150k, added a ton of heavy new functionality, and still managed to optimize and cut down costs from $.15 per active user per month to just $.03 or so."

@anewsocial @snarfed.org@snarfed.org wow this is very cool
Again, I can't stress this enough - Labour did not "lose" the local elections. They got beat like Walt Mondale.

The fact that there is ANYONE theorizing that Keir Starmer could turn this around and somehow win an election after this, tells you just how ingrained lib brain is in the party and just how much they're prepared to risk to contain their own left for capital.
Getting waxed in Manchester would be like losing the Blue Wall in the Midwestern- oh wait, I'm being told the Dems did precisely that too.
Some may have experienced outage intervals for our primary zone "quad9.net" on 8 May - for we which we are sorry and appreciate your support and patience 🫶 . Here are the details:
So I know I'm almost but what fruit or vegetable should Starmer be racing to the finish line?
I only trust Sinclair gasoline for my car because it's the only one with DinoCare™️!
(Disclaimer: This is a paid sponsorship with Sinclair — your only trusted source for high performance gasoline with DinoCare)
@Crissy Good grief. That's insane.
@pzwalker they also still have to pay their own tickets at the event
@gub j’ai bien dit « dont tu as le contenu » dans le post :)
@joachim le "contenu" je ne sais pas si c'est le HTML tout beau ou le texte au kilomètre
Donc si c'est un contenu bien balisé : 2mn.
…this produces what I will call the AI Developer’s Descent Into Madness:
- Whoa, I produced this prototype so fast! I have super powers!
- This prototype is getting buggy. I’ll tell the AI to fix the bugs.
- Hmm, every change now causes as many new bugs as it fixes.
- Aha! But if I have an AI agent also review the code, it can find its own bugs!
- Wait, why am I personally passing data back and forth between agents
- I need an agent framework
- I can have my agent write an agent framework!
- Return to step 1
It’s actually alarming how many friends and respected peers I’ve lost to this cycle already.
my dad doesn't really believe he's autistic, but this is a man who once went on ebay to buy like a half dozen pairs of new old stock sneakers when they stopped making the ones he liked
@redoak So relatable!
With a simple request to Israel, Dutch government can help 48 people from Gaza - with valid (study) visa - to actually travel to our country. Despite a court order, it refuses to do so. Disgusting.

Like do they ever support breaking up their employers? I'm pretty sure I've seen some unions take an anti-merger stance on occasion, but I'm unsure if they've taken a more aggressive stance against their employers... I suppose it would be easier for unions that aren't specific to a company. Industry wide unions.
I'm only wondering about it because smaller companies (of the "traditional" the only thing that matters is profit, shareholders, and the C-suite variety) would be easier to bully.
(I did a quick search, but only stumbled across conservatives complaining that unions should have anti-trust applied to them. I'll try to do more searching later.)

Services depending on MusicBrainz are back up, but MusicBrainz itself is still not fully back.
"Steve Reed claims Labour MPs calling for Starmer's resignation are not representative of majority of PLP
Asked about the number of Labour MPs calling publicly for Keir Starmer’s resignation, Reed said that, if 40-plus MPs have called for Starmer to go, that meant 90% of Labour MPs were not saying that, he argued. That wasn’t a “silent majority”; that was a “silent landslide”."
Well, that's great Steve but I feel like you're forgetting whose opinion matters - the voters who just wiped you out.
Again, I can't stress this enough - Labour did not "lose" the local elections. They got beat like Walt Mondale.
