What's hypothetically true - and again we don't know - is much less important than how we act on the possibilities.
@strypey I have no love for Google, but I actually do think it matters that people have evidence and not insinuations to back up their claims. So get some, or move on. Nobody should trust tech companies; that's not in dispute. What you claim about what they can do materially impacts their threat model though, and claiming that can eavesdrop without evidence is FUD.
I find it very frustrating that the only opinions people seem to be able to have about AI are:
A/ it's the next coming of Christ, just deploy it everywhere, and if it has any issues those will be fixed with the next update anyway
B/ it's completely useless, has never and will never do anything useful
