Auf die hier gestellte Frage, warum die Leute weniger auf linke Demos gehen, vielleicht insgesamt weniger politisch aktiv sind, habe ich etwa 150 direkte Antworten bekommen. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich euch allen antworten konnte, teilweise sind lange Gespräche entstanden.
Es gibt unterschiedliche Gründe, von denen viele immer wieder genannt wurden.
Für mich stellt sich die Situation nun ungefähr so dar: Die kontinuierlich in der Tiefe arbeitende Vereinzelungsmaschine Kapitalismus und ihr Beschleunigungs-Mod. Neoliberalismus mal außen vor gelassen, ist das einschneidende historische Ereignis der letzten Zeit die Pandemie. Zum einen, weil sie schon Spaltungen auch innerhalb der Linken erzeugt hat, zum anderen und noch viel relevanter, weil sie Öffentlichkeit zerstört und zu Privatisierungen geführt hat, die bis heute nicht wieder ganz geheilt sind. Die Menschen gehen nicht nur weniger auf Demos, sondern auch weniger auf Parties. Durch die Pandemie wurde auch die Weitergabe von Wissen an jüngere Leute, das Einbinden in Strukturen unterbrochen, weswegen es hier eine Art Riss gibt. Vor allem war die Pandemie eine unvorhergesehene und lang anhaltende Erfahrung von Ohnmacht. Doch als die Pandemie auslief, wurde das Leben nicht besser noch kehrte die Welt in den vorherigen Normalzustand zurück. Stattdessen Krieg, Inflation, wieder Krieg und ein erdrückender, internationaler Faschisierungsruck. Viele berichten von einem Gefühl der tiefen Überforderung, weil es an zu vielen Enden brennt – wo anfangen, wo mit machen, was fortsetzen? Sind die linken Kämpfe nicht viel zu zerstückelt?

The call for nominations is closed! OSMI has received 16 expert nominations to the Steering Board. This body will set the main guidelines and strategy for OSMI, oversee the work of the Coordination Committee, and decide on the creation or closure of working groups.
Next, the initiators of OSMI will vote to select the 5 experts who will join the Steering Board in 2026.

On the evening of my favorite holiday of the season, I say this — if this holiday doesn’t spark joy for you: please, re-invent it. For me, it’s about traditions — but that could be a tradition that you’re starting this year, with nobody more than yourself.
It also doesn’t have to be about traditions — find something it can mean for you (and it can mean nothing and just be a day and that’s okay!)
I just don’t want people unhappy due to past baggage. This day should be joyful, even if quietly.
Just finished "Enshittification" by @pluralistic, and despite it not telling me anything new, as I've been following him and this subject for a while, seeing all the case studies, the analysis, and Cory's proposed cure in a succinct, eloquent, and well argued overview was enraging, cathartic, and still hopeful.
I would definitely recommend it to most people, but especially to people who are not as familiar with all the tech nonsense as I am. I have the feeling I will be lending my copy to people regularly.
Oh, and the plug for the fediverse was nice to see.

In theory, if Mastodon revealed which country your Mastodon account was mostly used from, it would not be possible for someone to get paid to influence voters from another country by pretending to be from said country.
For instance, Putin could not pay Russians to influence a US election by posting in English from a secret office in Moscow.
Of course the price would be, Mastodon would then reveal everyone's home country.
