A state of mind should be encouraged that anything can be sabotaged.
I’m actually shocked that folks I speak to here in Ireland are still planning holidays in the USA.
Here’s a testimonial you might not find on Tripadvisor:

Well well well, if it isn't exactly what privacy nerds have been warning about forever! https://www.theregister.com/2026/01/27/ice_data_advertising_tech_firms/
Sometimes the horror and unfairness of my sister's greatly worsened disability due to CFS just overwhelms me. She can do so few of the things she enjoys these days. I finally want to go on winter walks, something she loves, and we can't do that together. We used to run errands together and it made even unpleasant ones so much more bearable. We'd visit our chosen family members together, go on road trips, hikes, to the thrift stores, in the last couple of years go birding. Most of that we can't do anymore, or she can do only rarely. The possibility that she'll never recover enough to do all that again makes me want to die. I feel like I'm supposed to accept that disability is a part of life, and I will be there for her no matter what, I'll enjoy our conversations and the time we spend together no matter what. But I'm furious and terrified all the time, and everything I am and do over the last half a year feels like I'm just stretched thinly over a core of grief and rage.
It wasn't me, it was the cat!
Wow, I did not expect Cllr Crisanti to bring up a question about something actually new and relevant (TTC fare capping)
Oh wow, we're done with questions, now to speeches. Mayor Chow is up first, with a Relatable™ anecdote about the price of groceries. Blah blah affordability.
In front of me, a guy from TPS seems to be having Copilot explain tax laws to him. (There are bulleted lists and emoji in headings.) What could possibly go wrong?
How hard would it be/how much would it cost to set up a closed fedi server? Since discord is going into the shitter, im trying to find an alternative for the large discord group that i run.
@BlackAzizAnansi Maybe Bonfire would be a good choice?

Does that mean I can run my own odoo instance and then somehow facilitate my MTD via it? I don't view it as overkill, if it allows me to do everything with FOSS. I am even willing to pay a premium to facilitate my life with FOSS.
Well, according to this page, it is

which, erm, might not inspire confidence!
Question dépannage linux/stockage ↓
Merci🙏

@delta@chaos.social only thing keeping me from using delta regularly is calling support. How is the experimental p2p calling going forward?
@Stomata it's improved in every release but still some time before it can be enabled by default, and be as usable and robust as we want it to be.
#DeltaChat breaks the one app, one ID rule of phone-number-based apps by supporting multiple chat profiles. This allows for true private messaging where you can keep a public identity for the Web or Fediverse separate from a private one for family and friends. Managing multiple selves is a new experience for many, but it is key to digital autonomy. We are working to make multi-profile handling even smoother in upcoming releases to ensure switching contexts is seamless. (3/3)
@delta but matrix works without the central en identity server, i never opted in for that and can use it fine. Which features do you lose there that deltachat does have?
(Love deltachat btw)
New in PN: The death of the CIA Factbook and Trump's war on usefulness
"There’s nothing partisan about the CIA World Factbook, so it’s hard to imagine how allowing people to use it could impede the MAGA agenda. Unless, that is, you realize that the Factbook had to go *precisely because it was useful.*" https://www.publicnotice.co/p/cia-world-factbook

@aral I've seen quite a few people shrug it off with a "they've always been like that", not realizing why it's different this time around.
