Excellent discussions about a simple problem in appearance: Comparing a struct with two `u16` could be achieved by comparing one `u32` (bits concatenation of both `u16`, both should be loaded in the same register). Turns out, despite being a nice optimisation, it’s rather complex!

Edit: it also works with `i16` and `i32` of course.

i mezzi con la sola voce troveranno sempre uno spazio per non morire.
Perché tu la voce la puoi ascoltare mentre fai altro. La radio, un podcast, un audiolibro li puoi portare con te quando passeggi col cane o fai le pulizie a casa.

Ma se devi guardare un video/film/serieTV o anche leggere un libro, devi stare lì a guardare.

Il mezzo in questi casi fa la differenza per la sopravvivenza.

Considering deleting the Manyfold roadmap, because it's embarrassingly unmaintained, and I'm terrible at looking after it. Prioritisation and visibility would useful, but I just know I won't stick with doing it while working on my own.

@beemdvp Yeah. Big picture-wise, it makes sense. From a very optimistic perspective, it’s at least increasingly feasible for a gamedev studio to go “all-Linux” in their development workflow, if they really wanted to. The fact that there are tools available for individuals who want to poke and prod and experiment is great!

It’s just a bummer that so much of the ecosystem is still exclusively for Mac or Windows. I’ve been a Linux desktop user for over 15 years, I’m not keen on switching just to support stuff.

Remember when we were excited for new software releases? Now it’s a flurry of articles about how to disable all the new “features” or how you can’t.

@caseynewton now I wonder about another side of such a stories.

1. Overtime more and more companies will use an AI-generated text in documents. It is how it is. "Read this algorithm and create a dull documentation for a higher-up management". And AI feelings from the text will mean much less.
2. To protect themselves from whistleblowers companies may share documents like this but edited by an AI so than detectors will report AI usage and no one out of the company will believe it. "Hey Gemini please add a" Confidential" watermark to the document pages" or so on. And I have no idea if these maliciously AI-edited real photos will be shown the same way as AI generated from scratch fake ones.

@ret @neil It would make sense to levy an environmental tax on "bad" stuff (ICE lorries / vans / cars, gas central heating, etc.) and use that revenue to subsidise the "good" alternatives. Possibly less important for EV sales (buying an EV instead of ICE just makes good financial sense for most people anyway), but increasing gas prices and decreasing electric prices would make electrification of heating a lot more attractive.
