Say it, say it out loud, hear your mouth say it. Feel your lips shape the words. Think about being an American as you do it.
"If you come here I can not guarantee your safety".
@GeePawHill Can you just send me a direct message? I've a few questions to ask you.
Please do not come to the US.
It's okay. I know you know that our government is not us. I know you know that we love you. I know you know that we are in a terrible place.
But please don't come here.
I can not guarantee your safety.
I am horrified to be saying it, it feels awful, I hate hate hate it, but the simple truth is that I can not guarantee your safety.
There is no rule of law here. Our government is led by people who do not believe in any of our shared values.

Your BRO made so many of these movies, it's hard to keep track of them. The series drifted almost imperceptibly from surrealist slapstick and inexplicable boxoffice dynamite, to veiled, near-subliminal protest pieces designed to expose the corporate tyranny slowly taking control of the world.
Finished s02 of "A Man On The Inside".
We love our BBC/PBS murder mysteries, we really do.
Sometimes it's nice to just watch something that is decent and kind.
Oh, and "North of North" S02 is in production, too!
@GeePawHill +1 on “A Man on the Inside”. I am looking forward to “North of North”, too!
Where I’m at: enjoying Chilean vermouth in Santiago.

Ok WOW there's a lot of great info here already in 30 minutes, thank you! A much more web-savvy friend is going to help me figure this out, but further suggestions are welcome!
@sundogplanets Depending on how good your internet connection is and whether you expect serious traffic, you could host from home on an old PC or small computer board like a raspberry.
This would be the cheapest option with the most control, but also more complicated than having it hosted. You also need a fairly steady internet connection. Someone also has to know how to set it up and monitor it for problems. The first part is hard, the second can be made easy but fixing issues is hard.

I’ve been following @pluralistic for a while, but I’ve never seen him interviewed. This was absolutely captivating. Truly. There were like fifteen bites I wanted to capture.
Cory is super smart. And his brain seems to work at the same speed my ADHD brain does, which helps me absorb what he’s saying.

I had a lovely science education website hosted on Squarespace, which was very nice to work with, especially as someone who doesn't know a lot about how websites work.
But I'd really like to have this website hosted instead on a server located in Canada, preferably with some nice building interface (wordpress?) and preferably not $$$
(And I am so bad at web stuff that I am probably using the wrong language here... apologies)
