@lechindianer thanks!
Yeah linear is a flat view like on Mastodon, and nested in a tree view like on Reddit.

Several new layout and sorting options coming to the discussion page on Bonfire in the next release. Would love some feedback, such as:
- would you prefer them separated in three menus as in the screenshots, or all in one menu?
- any suggestions on clearer wording for some of the options? such as nested vs linear or the different chronological options...

@natematias super interesting, we did some work with @dajb last year on tangential topics ( https://bonfirenetworks.org/zappa/ ) which paved the way to our current boundaries implementation ( https://bonfirenetworks.org/posts/how_to_boundaries/ )
📣 New Blog post ➡️ Making things intuitive is complex! Or, what we discovered via user testing.
A big Thank you to @dajb who run the User testing sessions and to all the people who registered and participated. The feedback we received was invaluable in highlighting areas for improvement.

@lebout2canap totally doable, using valueflows "intent" https://www.valueflo.ws/concepts/flows/#intent
🎉 We are thrilled by the great response to our user testing sessions. Thank you all for your interest and participation requests. We have successfully reached our target number of users and are now closed for further applications. The first sessions have already begun, and we can't wait to gather and share valuable insights from our amazing participants. Stay tuned for updates
@laurenshof @n8 that's right 😊 more about circles In bonfire here: https://bonfirenetworks.org/posts/how_to_boundaries/
@houkime Thanks for letting us know! We're facing some federation-related issues that we need to address head-on :)
@decentral1se thanks for the suggestion, we have updated the blog post accordingly :)
Ps. For clarity:
- dynamic Skill ( @dajb) are volunteering their time and skills
- The available funds cover the development of federated groups and custom roles, which (spoiler) are not in the scope of this user research session
- All the rest of Bonfire development, design, research, communication work is currently unpaid (we hope to fix this situation soon :D)
@decentral1se not unfortunately, we cannot bear expenses at this moment...
@dajb
💥 👋 We’re looking for volunteers to help us with some user research. We’re particularly interested in hearing from a diverse range of people who may be interested in using Bonfire in a personal or professional capacity .
You do not need any particular technical knowledge, skills, or prior experience of Bonfire. The user research interviews will be carried out in English by Dynamic Skillset .

🚀 Reflecting on a productive week focused on enhancing discussions on Bonfire!
Here our major improvements:
✨ Give a title to your discussions
📊 View discussion metrics for better insights
🔍 Read discussions seamlessly with an optimised legibility experience
✏️ Bonus: Edit posts!
Next week, we'll focus on federating threads and iterate with the community to squash bugs and enhance user experience. Join the campground and let's dive into the conversation!
@Lapineige some quick screenshots (with explanation in caption) attached
Also if any fellow ActivityPub implementors has already done something similar or has suggestions about how to federate it, that'd be helpful! (Because this is seperate from the Note name/title which is already used for CW, and also is scoped to the entire thread rather than an individual post).
🔥 We've just rolled out a new feature: thread titles.
Add a title to your thread - either initially or add it later as discussions develop, and edit it at any time if the discussion takes another direction. We're exploring if this offers more context to discussions, driving better participation and streamlining the organisation of discussions. Try it on the campground instance and let us know what you think! https://campground.bonfire.cafe/
What are some meaningful statistics we must/should incorporate for the Bonfire 1.0 release? We are seeking to find statistics that can effectively foster engagement in discussions without solely promoting addictive behaviors. Any thoughts or suggestions ? #bonifre_feedback
