Canada’s Bill C-22 could force tech companies to build surveillance into their systems. That puts everyone’s privacy and security at risk. Canadians: Tell the Senate to stop it before becomes law.

@eff are there exceptions in here for VPN or US based tech companies? Is this just for ISP’s? I’ve seen similar survaliance laws elsewhere with strange carve outs like I think North Carolina.
The laws in Canada seem to be so behind that it seems there are no constraints fast enough to handle scammers and other malicious actors.
I read a bunch of the bill and it’s quite dense and difficult to interpret.
Is there a parliamentary petition about this bill? There are on other issues.
