A statement which reads: The Newsmast Foundation is a long-standing pioneer of Fediverse knowledge-sharing and discovery. In early 2024 we launched 62 topical Community Feeds in early 2024, followed in 2025 by our feed generator, channel.org. Knowledge-sharing and community building remains at the heart of all we do, through our community apps and platforms. Working with new communities, we’ve found they want focused feeds which meet their needs, rather than generic ones. In the meantime, the Social Web Foundation has successfully introduced tags.pub as a global discovery engine, spreading hashtags across the Fediverse. Tags.pub combines many of the features of our global channels and channel.org, so over the coming weeks we’re going to migrate to this. For the many people who enjoy having their posts spread more widely through Newsmast global Channels, you’ll need to opt-in to tags.pub by following @_followback@tags.pub. Add a hashtag to your posts, and it will then be boosted by tags.pub. For all the followers of Newsmast global Channels, you’ll need to follow the equivalent tags.pub account - for example, if you follow the Newsmast Photography Channel, then follow @photography@tags.pub.
