Okay fedi, this is an emergency. I need all of the photos of manuls, aka Pallas's cats, you have. All of them.

Look at this chonky fluff. Just look at it.
And then go find more and send them my way.
I need them.

@rysiek My partner recommended this series, in case Pallas' shapeshifters are also your thing. They assure me it's a good series.
@rysiek Sylvain Cordier's wonderful collection of manuls in the wild :

Most of the manul pics on the web comes from captivity, it's nice to see them free :)
@rysiek I cannot help, because Bongo does not approve of chonkiness. He would like you to consider the virtues of slimness! 🐆

Один манул. Два манула. Три манула.

Pallas Cat: Looks like the offspring of a koala, Grumpy Cat, and Wilford Brimley.
Does it like oatmeal and have a distaste for everything else, Michal?
@rysiek Tiergarten Berlin has a Manul.
@rysiek Edinburgh Zoo
@rysiek These were better quality in my mind! December 2012, Prospect Park Zoo, Brooklyn

@rysiek It takes years of training and some serious mousey treats to get to this level of murderfloof wrangling

@rysiek Gorgeous. I’ve never seen one like it. Kind of has the raccoon pose going on. :)
@rysiek Pallas's cat born in Helsinki Zoo
@rysiek I love them even more than Norwegian Forest cats
@rysiek That cat is seriously catty.
@rysiek Not a photo, but a video of their mastery of visual comedy:
@rysiek OMG the Ikea one XDDD What the fuuuuuuck
@rysiek I assume you’ve seen the Pallas Cat Song, but just in case… https://youtu.be/5YLSP6b6yHg

@rysiek For videos of these wonderful murder fluffs, there's this YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/@manulization?si=2ipuNr5Y_hYY_WxD
@rysiek I have no pictures of manuls, but for more "it looks like a common household pet but not quite" adorableness I highly recommend bush dogs:
@rysiek
I'm sorry I don't have any credits for these, I was collecting them for a new reference and expression sheet.
(Alt text for the batch: several images of Pallas cats. Very fluffy grey brown wild cats with short rounded ears and a perpetual grumpy expression)

Look at the kittens! They master the death glare so young. 🥲

@MaryAustinBooks @rysiek Sebastian is a friend of mine and a great guy. FYI, he now offers photo tours to go see the Manul. I'm heading down to Chile with him in a few weeks for pumas, and then to Spain with him in January for Iberian lynx.
