@therepository I loved Gutenberg editor since 2021, I was unaware that Mullenweg already showed hostility towards accessibility team back in 2018. Since 2021 I have worked and had fun with it, even talked about it during WordPress accessibility day in 2024. I'm blind and I couldn't stand classic editor, I didn't feel comfortable with it and, overall, with those themes where you had to code everything -I am not a coder.
Then, Full Site Editing, made me feel at home because it looked like moving page elements and building them, like Lego bricks! However, by Wp Drama event, things started gradually to change. Mullenweg showed his hostility again, when finding that checkbox "I'm not affiliated with wp engine", which now has become "pineapple is delicious on pizza" (subtitle: WTF!)
Then last August 2026 when he told everyone to ignore/override accessibility team's requests.
And now, this action to kick out Andrea Fercia.
As a content creator, a blind user, a long-time promoter, I literally can't trust this platform again. I can even ignore Mullenweg, who seems a poor old man affected by delirium or in andropause or what's called. Namely hormons. No, women aren't the only affected by this, males just feel ashamed to share their issues and they respond to it with rage against others. I simply pity them, who cares if I'm sexist at this point! I'm sexist, towards an ableist.
But going beyond these discussions which can become childish, I can not trust a platform where, reporting an issue, I will never now if, when, and by whom, it would be ever fixed! I can't trust a platform where if you say something against the leaders, you run the risk to be banned.
Maybe I'm narcissist, but who cares at this point; will he ban me? Be it. I left WordPress, my site runs on WriteFreely now, then if he ever bans me, I won't be able to help ActivityPub WordPress plugin as I wanted to.
I take my responsibilities and carry them on till the end, but if it ever happens, I'm no longer responsible of me disappearing.
I won't use WordPress any longer until Accessibility position isn't clear, but I follow community, hoping that someone highly protests deeply against this leadership.
