A one-time 5% wealth tax would bring Silicon Valley's billionaires' wealth back to where it was just 31 days ago
(when it was "just" 178% higher than on January 1, 2023).
They'd rather let 3 million people lose their health insurance than let that happen.

I wish more tax discourse would focus on the impacts. A 5% increase in income tax for the lowest tax bracket will push people to the wrong side of the poverty line, cause people to be unable to afford food or rent. A 10% increase to the top rate would cause people like me to put a bit less money into savings and investments each year. Which makes more sense as a policy?
