I also don't understand the European urge to Make Esperanto Happen when (if you don't want to stick with English as the de facto shared language) Latin is and always has been right there filling the role for two thousand years before we got bored with it. Latin as she is spoke is not actually that hard, it just has a bad reputation from necromantic teachers treating grammar like a demon-summoning diagram to be handled worshipfully and not a tool to be used for achieving communication.
