TFW
You re-open code that you've been using weekly for months now
It's broken, in a way that is fairly obvious
You haven't made any changes to the code that's broken in months
The diffs from version control show no changes to that section of code
BUT THIS WORKED LAST WEEK
Okay we have a bit of an explanation. By restricting a section of code to the "if verbose" condition, which it should have had but didn't, I think you basically end up with a kludgy end-around on an order of execution error which is probably a bug but doesn't show up so long as the code is run from default state.
And there's something funky in Google's almost-certainly-vibecoded godawful agglomeration of CSV and JSON that's tripping up some other values.
But at least we're mostly functional again.
(I hate this so much.)
