Today I would like to start a new Fedi praxis. I would like us to begin thanking, and a little bit even celebrating, Fedizens who have been especially helpful in ways that might not be visible here.
I'll start.
You all know @Shrigglepuss . They shitpost about their accidental sexiness and colorful jumpers - that one. Well, I am here to tell you that the very same Shrig is completely brilliant at helping kids build their own gaming rig. Like, really good: cool about pitching at the right level, respecting earnest research already done, making gentle suggestions of bits that would combine better, all that. And, when a Very Weird Problem with the SSD showed up even pointing parent-and-child team in the right rather obscure direction. Being good with PC hardware is one skill; having the social grace to guide earnest idiots over a text chat is very much another.
