After the Ethiopian army's push into Tigray and capture of Mekele, Eritrean soldiers have now unsurprisingly intervened on behalf of the Ethiopian rebel alliance. This dangerous new plot twist threatens to exacerbate an already dire situation on the ground.
Ethiopia responded by attacking arriving Eritrean units with drones, near the border town of Zalambessa.
