While we're testing the DTF crowd fund platform, let us share the news;
We’re really excited!
The Democratic Tech Fund is launching its funding platform on October 29th.
During @mozilla #MozFest #MozFest26 in Barcelona
We'll have fun with @X_net during the #4D event and will be there with the #DTF team.
During Barcelona's OpenTechWeek
With the membership growing by the day, we are preparing for launch, to collectively fund contra-infrastructure: tools, learning and mobilisation for communities that refuse to rent their digital lives from Big Tech.
We support powerful communications infrastructure in our cities and regions, in the hands of the community.
#DTF Let’s get Down To Fund
We propose to fund projects that bring together communities that want to organise away from BigTech, running powerful tech that is replicable and decentralised with the community in the centre, seeking shared responsibility and care, organising membership and decision making in practical ways.
Many of the pieces are already there. Just check the stories on the DTF website. If you work together, you don’t need the surveillance and ecological damage of Google or Microsoft. Instead you could check out LaSuite.coop, CoopCloud.tech or Kollicloud.

Walking away from the BigTech socials is not easy for many because of locked-in audiences. Despite the obvious doomscrolling, addiction by design, extreme (right) biasing and polarisation, there are still many people in those social media.
But what if communities would shape their own connected community spaces, and move there together? @Bonfire is showcasing some really impressive examples.

It is more urgent than ever; we all know the threats that BigTech and the authoritarian political forces are posing to people and planet.
