Microsoft has done something rather interesting with its Neural Voices. If you use the Microsoft Neural Voices add-on for NVDA, along with its driver and manager, you'll find that Jenny, originally introduced for US English, has apparently decided to become multilingual.
There's a Jenny for French, German, and Italian, for example. Even Australian English, UK English, and Indian English have their own Jennys. And the funny thing is, they really do sound like Jenny. The language and accent change, but somehow it's still Jenny.
At least I like this multilingual Jenny. And maybe there's an unexpected advantage to it: since I already understand US English Jenny, I'm finding that having the same familiar voice speaking French and Italian actually helps me understand those languages better. Jenny, apparently, is no longer an American. She's an international woman now.
