so last week, but for my bag, shoes and compression bra, everything i was wearing i made in these 2 cancer-free LongCOVID-free years.
and one of the radiologists noticed.
when she asked me were i bought my palazzo culottes ―which i made in such a way it looks like a Dior New Look skirt―, and i told her i made it, she didn't even lose a bit:
i had no idea you were a fashion designer.
FAM: almost burst out in ugly sobs, and she wasn’t even pancaking my boob on the mammo machine…
that she saw the effort.
that she acknowledged the skill.
that this woman, this doctor, who knew my health history, literally inside and out…
FAM that meant the world to me.
cuz that’s all i wanted to be as a little girl and was sworn to never be.
yes i chose other paths with my vast arsenal of skills… yet knowing always there was this part of me that just wants to draw paper dolls, fondle fabrics and make everything around me look fabulous…
