@EUCommission It could be fun to start with the directive of 1988 - which even predates the EU - which is about adding a European dimension to education. Been almost 40 years, three generations, and zilch. If you want people to care about the EU, to also embrace their European identity, this is sorely needed.
Beyond that I honestly don't understand how it's possible that we've collectively seen decline just about everywhere yet nothing was done for many years now. Education being a national competence is not strong enough an argument, even less so as we're apparently ignoring that now.

@EUCommission Learning is a human process, not a tool. Actually learning a skill is internalizing information into knowledge.
A tool can not do this process. AI comes with a layer of indirection, and confidence levels hidden from the user. AI tools can cheat, lie and steal content. Pupils may never know about Newton or Einstein of only their formulas are presented. A lot is lost in the machine's presentation.
Reasoning and logical thinking are important skills that must be internalized.

@EUCommission Yeah that's great, tell each country how crap their education is. Meanwhile countries aren't spending money on critical supplies, teachers, support assistants, pens, books, even blank paper... instead you've all lost your collective minds by investing in A.I.Data centres, investing in foly technology that will make a select few rich and put swathes of people out of work, but sure carry on with pointless reports, and your 'i' dotting, while the next generation burns your cities down
...remember, "inclusive classrooms" means classes with not more than 12 students (elementary, primary school level - means doubling teachers)

AI is not a "basic skill". Using it, and tech in general should be limited to IT classes only. Get back to writing by hand, math without calculators, and not letting kid's brains rot from skill regression with AI use before they even gain said skills.

@EUCommission AI must not enter school at all! Please, let children learn without shortcuts. Let them read physical books, let them draw and write by hand etc. AI is for adults who have already gotten the skill, not for children and teenager who should spend their time doing complex stuff to maximize the quality of their neurodevelopment!
