Not gonna lie, I miss the early era of gamified apps.
That sweet dopamine hit of checking in at a location and earning a sticker? ooooooo.
Don't get me wrong, the surveillance capitalism was bad back then and is even worse now, and I'm in no way passing over that... but my brain, it misses those bright colors and squirts of neurotransmitters.
Every so often, there's some "adult merit badges" or "life quests" crowdfunding project that crosses my bow, and it is extremely difficult for me not to spring for it.
I want to have adventures and earn little trinkets for them!
