Digital Ocean killed its "we give Open Source projects a bit of free hosting" policy basically at the same time they droppen 3 millions USD on Omarchy, DHH's (who is a fascist and racist) set of config files he calls a distribution.

DHH is working towards accumulating open source funding to be able to direct it towards projects that align with his technical and ideological views.
It's hard to overstate how dangerous that is for all of us.
@dragonarchitect Digital Ocean had a program for giving open source free service.
"Had". They sent out a message saying they're discontinuing the whole thing and closing the email box.
